Re: New OTA UPDATE?? 1-25-10..

Weird, I just checked my radio and it still says: 2.22.19.26I I haven't had Any indication of system updates. Maybe you're in a market where it's starting to roll out? What region are you in?

Re: New OTA UPDATE?? 1-25-10..

I woke up to the same thing.  Was really confusd when i saw it wanted to updated to 1.6 when I already had 1.6 installed.  I almost got prematurely excited to see system update thinking it was 2.0 or 2.1.

Does anybody have an idea what the update was for? I got mine last night, but there doesn't seem to be any changes; not as far as I can tell.

Re: New OTA UPDATE?? 1-25-10..

I too got this update this morning on my G1. Was super excited, but it's still 1.6. I could be crazy, but my 3G signal does seem better in the house now (2-3 bars instead of 1)....but maybe I'm just looking too hard for an answer to what this update did LOL!!! I'd love to know what the heck it did.

Re: New OTA UPDATE?? 1-25-10..

Like everyone else, I was excited too thinking it was "the official 2.0+" update....I received it this morning (Chicago Central Time) but it appeared when I went to use one of the applications I had downloaded. I thought it might have had to do something with that.....

Re: New OTA UPDATE?? 1-25-10..

I got and installed an update this morning on my G1 (there's no G1 forum anymore?) and now my phone will not boot past the Tmobile G1 screen. If I have to factory restore I'm gonna be wicked effing pissed, as the versions of more than one of my apps aren't available in the market anymore. Any suggestions?

Re: New OTA UPDATE?? 1-25-10..

Yeah, I have some suggestions for you...In the future, use Astro File Manager to back up your applications to your SD before you blindly accept an update. Also, in the future, wait about a week after one of these OTA updates has taken place before installing it, and read all of the comments about it to ensure there are no problems.

Re: New OTA UPDATE?? 1-25-10..

I got the update this morning 1/28/10 around 4:00am. I read another forum saying this

"I received the OTA update for android OS on my G1 today. Here are the details on the current rom:

Firmware version - 1.6

Baseband version - 62.50SC.20.17H_2.22.23.02

Kernel version - 2.6.29-00479-g3c7df37 android-build@apa26 #19

Build number - DMD64

Now, none of the copy protected apps are showing in the Android market app. What happened to all the apps? At least T-Mobile should have warned if that was an intended consequence. I need my apps back"

I THINK IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE ANDROID MARKET BECAUSE NOW EVERYTIME I LOG INTO THE APP IT FORCE CLOSES. CAN SOMEONE HELP WITH THIS!!!!!!

Re: New OTA UPDATE?? 1-25-10..

Heaven forbid they put out stuff that works. Ha. I'll most definitely be backing up my apps from now on. But that doesn't bring back the versions of the ones I wanted to keep (I.e. full demos before they started to charge, or added ads.). Live and learn.

Re: New OTA UPDATE?? 1-25-10..

Eh...I am not sure what the OTA update is about, but, after experiencing the 1.5-to-1.6-update, I wouldn't have installed it. Pay for the good apps if you value them. I load about six apps. I paid for Touchdown, the rest are free. Any more than a handful of apps on your phone and you are wasting your time and jacking up your phone. Seriously, it's a phone, not a laptop. You shouldn't have a hundred apps on there, and you shouldn't have anything on your phone you can't live without that isn't backed up somewhere else (just like your PC.) Use the Market as your software repository. If you need an app, download it, install it, use it, then uninstall. If you aren't using it every day, or, let's say every five days, it shouldn't be on your phone (backup apps excluded,) or should be stored in a directory on your SD card. If they are good apps, get the updates and pay for them. I can factory reset my phone and be back to the ideal state in about 10 minutes, 15 minutes tops. Discard the Fart Noise apps. Haha.

1/26/10 Update breaks UI

I updated my phone today as prompted to, and when it was done updating, my google search bar in now in the middle of my screen instead of at the top, and the application pull-up doesn't reach the top of the screen either.

Anyone else running into this?
