This randomly happend, it was working before then stopped. The screen still works as in i can see  everything but the touch doesnt respond. I upgraded the software- didnt work. I hard reseted- didnt work and im stuck at the align screen option. Is this a screen problem? a phone problem? can it be fixed? if not do i replace the screen or the whole phone?

My suggest would be to do warranty exchange if still under warranty that is. Warranty will send you a refurbished phone in exchange for the one you have now.

I have been having trouble with my touchscreen for several months now. Of course it started 3 wks after the warranty expired. Just before I was about to order a new digitizer or touchscreen with digitizer it came back to life for a month. Then stopped working again. I decided to take it apart to see if the problem was a loose ribbon cable connection. It was a good dry run for replacing parts but didn't fix the touchscreen. A few weeks later it started working again, but this time for only a week. Ever since the first time it quit the screen calibration has not been very stable. Sometimes it won't even re calibrate and I have to take out the battery to restart the phone. I'm sure glad I didn't do a hard reset as customer service suggested or my phone would be totally useless being unable to get past the screen alignment step of the setup procedure. Sometimes som areas of the screen work. I may try a new touchscreen, but am not sure that will solve the problem. I will be reluctant to pay this much for a phone again if it is only going to work for a year.

i had my wing for 2 yrs i solved this problem by using an htc ram cleaner from ppcfreeware i now have a tp2 & it works well when my phone runs slow or screen wont respond to touch good luck hope this helps ( dean )

Okay. I do plan on talking to customer support about this, but right now I don't have time (got to get to work), but I have time to jot off this quick message to see if anyone can help me.

To resolve an issue, I ended up having to do a hard reset--which restores the phone to factory settings (no big deal when you've backed up everything on a desktop/laptop computer)--but now my touchscreen won't work! I can't set up the phone unless I can tap the screen and have it sense it. 

No matter how many times I've tapped the screen, I can't get a response. I've tried keeping the phone off for a couple of days; I've tried soft reseting it several times. Nothing works.

Please help if you can!

I had this same problem with my phone.  Did you have the phone locked and have to enter a password to log into the phone?  The memory card holds the password and the phone is waiting for you to unlock it.  Crazy....I know but once I removed the security lock, the tap screen worked.

Now in your case of resetting the pone back to the factory settings, you may have to save the information on your card, reformat it and then place it back into the phone.

Thank you for your suggestion. 

I wish that  a locked phone was the problem. I haven't locked the phone. It was just having some issues that couldn't be resolved by a soft reset, so the manual says that the hard reset might resolve the issue. My touch screen worked before this and now it doesn't. Now this phone is just a piece of electronics that have no function but to take my money (because I'm still under contract) and take up space.

A bit late now but to fix this issue all you need is a business card. Take a paper card like a business card and use it to clean underneath the touch screen frame.

sorry to say this but might be time to ditch the stubborn bi.ch i had a wing for 2 years & finally said f it & went to the touch pro 2 what an amazing phone get one & ALWAYS get insurance on smartphones good luck :-)
