NONE CONTACT RECOVERED... NOW WHAT???

HI PEOPLE

WHEN I LOGON IN MYTMOBILE I DONT HAVE ANY TOOLS OR LINKS TO RECOVER MY CONTACT AS ADVICED.

I CALLED A SIDEKICK "TECH" AT TMOBILE AND  SHE ONLY "REPORT" THIS SITUATION TO I DONT KNOW WHO AND SHE TOLD ME THAT CUSTOMERS FROM PUERTO RICO (LIKE ME) MUST WAIT A LITTLE MORE (THATS BS). THE "TECH" NEVER FOUND THE WAY TO RECOVER MY CONTACTS (LOST MORE THAN 200). I WAIT FOR MY "CUSTOMER APRECIATION CARD"  IN THE NEXT 14 DAYS AFTER TMOBIL OR MS ADVICE ABOUT THE RECOVERY IF NOT I WILL JUST CANCEL MY CONTRACT.

IF ANY ONE MORE HAVE THIS SITUATION TOO PLEASE LET OTHER PEOPLE KNOW IT.

THANKS

Re: NONE CONTACT RECOVERED... NOW WHAT???

hey have you tried to select the options that says not your phone? and then go ahead and select the sidekick and then you will see the options that will let you restore your contacts it should be there if you see some type of error message then wait a little more and try again later but the option should be there after you try this ... best regards

Re: NONE CONTACT RECOVERED... NOW WHAT???

Im not in Puerto Rico but I feel your pain. Calling a T-Mobile Tech is like reading the updates on the forums. Word by word they give me the same thing that I read on the update. I feel even worse because I am a Flex Pay customer which means that I don't get upgrade discounts so I had to buy my LX 2009 at full price. I regret it with a passion. I was told to get an iPhone and I really wish I had listened to my friends on that. I would rather be a trend person then have to deal with over a 3 week period of no internet or no contact or messages being deleted.

Re: NONE CONTACT RECOVERED... NOW WHAT???

The same thing happened to me.  I had to click on the pink square in the upper left corner that says "stick together" on my landing page before I saw anything.  Try that and see if it works?

Re: Restore Your Contacts Trouble? FYI

I had trouble doing the required downloading with any browser other than IE, Google and Firefox wouldn't work... so I suggest trying IE

I received my list but it was NOT complete. Addresses where missing on some entries, some entries where totally missing... some only had a email instead of a phone number and numerous issues like that.

I consider myself lucky because I bought the program that backed up contacts to my outlook.... except I can NO LONGER use that program....

I still lost a few things, I always lose the text messages with their updates so that loss isn't a "new" thing. (before sidekick I had a few messages I kept for keepsakes but using the sidekick kinda axed those messages a long time ago anyway) I have lost messages left on the phone from my kids, and pictures, and about 7 ringtones, 4 themes... and such that I PAID for... gone now though.

It doesn't sync with my outlook anymore, and that is why I got the phone. A month of not having to pay for my data plan isn't really making up with for that at the moment...

grr

I had over a thousand contacts saved on my phone, and it only 'restored' 700 or something. I realize this is normal, but why are half of my contacts saved like this , "-8790,-7502" etc etc. A slash and a four digit number. What does this mean? Did anyone else have this issue?

Tmobile sent me someone else's contacts! Questionable Security Integrity?

I restored my contacts via the "restore contacts" method explained by tmobile.  Unfortunately, there were over 150 contacts missing from this batch.  Moreover, there were dozens of old #'s that should have been previously inentionally deleted by me but came back.

I reported to tmobile today that not all my contacts are back and they said tmobile still may push additional missing contacts to customers during this process.  A few hours later, I noticed I have over 150 new contact #'s that don't even belong to me!  They included names, phone, #'s, passwords, and even PIN #'s.

I understand the pressure and chaos that is probably going on at tmobile end, however, this lack security and data integrity really worries me.  I work at a financial institution and I have bank account #'s, policy #'s, social security #'s and other extrememly confiedential information that should only belong to bank employees.  I can only imagine that kind of mess and security nightmare this can be if t-mobile does not get their arms around this issue.

I've been patient during this whole outage but this is where I draw the line.  Tmobile has lost my trust in the intergrity and security of their system and recovery plan.  Who knows who may have yours, my personal, or my clients personal information by mistake.  I'm extremely concerned and worried about this potential security gap.

To top it off, after being on the phone with an agent for about 15 minutes to report this issue, I was placed on hold for about 5 minutes only to be disconnected.  The agent didn't even call me back.

I'm actively looking outside of tmobile and trashing the sidekick for good.

Re: grr

I had this same exact problem. Out of 150 or so contacts I got back 76 and most are either missing the phone number or showing only the four digits like you said. So this doesn't solve the problem of losing the contacts.

Re: What is the link to recover my contacts?

You need to head to my.t-mobile.com

Then log in.

Once logged in (if you still have your sidekick) there will be a link on the homepage "Restore contacts"

If you have switched phones, you will need to click the small link that says "Not my phone" Under the picture of your current phone. Then select the sidekick you had, and the restore contacts button will appear.

Re: still no contacts

I am getting the same screen where it says my contacts cannot be retrieved at this time, but I've received two text messages from T-mobile telling me to retrieve them. Has anyone figured out what this is?

Re: Not all my contacts were recovered

LOL!!!!!!!!!     t mobile was able to restore SOME of my contacts.. to bad they were the ones that i had gotten back from my sim card.. but like my friends phone number the one that i wanted and didnt have written down. they cant get it back... whats up with that.. I'm also tired of the phone just rebooting it self when it feels like it... thank god its been a few days since it did that cause i have to go and fix all the ring tones and lose every text or pic message i had... ... i call customer service and it's a long drawn out process to find out that they don't know whats wrong with my phone... i bought the phone cause i really really wanted one for about a year and a half... now i am sorry i ever got it...... and they really are not helping me feel like they give a hoot cause it's not getting better.....

Is anyone else tired of redoing stuff over and over again... my calanders birthdays are all missing and so was the onces on my contacts.. everything is so messed up i should have stuck with the cheap free phone... i had less headacks...

Re: import contacts doesn't work :(

I can not get the 2nd step to work for me either! This is killing me. Its so frustrating. I don't know how I can keep calm about this when they keep handing me a piece of the puzzle at a time!!! I want it all. It should never have come to this in the first place.
