I was just on my phone and when I got off my phone all my contacts returned. I do not know if this will last for long but the site of my contacts returning is encouraging.

Good for you tommyd2107!!! i suggest that you copy all of your address book contacts to your SIM card just incase they disappear. Good luck on getting any other information back and i hope we will be just as lucky as you!

obviously a soft reset is a bad idea... but what about just turning our phones off?

Yea I turned off my phone a couple times over the course of the outage. Last night i began manually importing all my numbers back into my phone, then today when I went out on my phone and after I hung up the rest of my contacts came back.

The same thing happened to me...I shut my phone off several times without removing the battery...voile'!  My contacts returned!

Good lord, I'd given up hope and begun mourning already...

Perhaps only a few people will get their information back, maybe we'll all get some...

I think we all got our old emails back right?

Time to pray/hope...

Got my contacts back too!  My phone froze up on me and since I have already lost everything anyways, I just took the battery out and put it back in.  Once my phone was on about 5 minutes later I checked my address book for some reason and they were all there.  I saved all my contacts to my simcard.

I've been without my 293 contacts for almost a week now. And I am so pissed off. So many appts. I haven't been able to reschedule.  And I had to cancel my 2 week trip to North Carolina because I just changed my # and I don't have any of my family or friends #'s memorized.  A mere credit of 35 bucks doesn't console me a bit.  After all the data I lost I deserve a millie.  I'm so jealous of u guys who are getting your contacts back

Hello.  Could you please clarify this for me/us?

We've been directed to NOT turn our Sidekick power off, remove the battery, etc., during this outage, yet it seems to be just what tommyd2107 did, and which helped him get back his Contacts.

Should we therefore try that ourselves?  Wouldn't that contradict that directive?

Please advise and thanks.

I agree with Jassyjas1030, here's my issue. Tmobile always ask; did you back up your contacts or log into mytmobile. but if the server went completely down, none of my info is there anyway. I was sent a replacement phone because my sidekick 2009 had defects. I asked prior to returning the defective phone if my contacts would transfer and I was assured they would. BIG FAT EFFIN LIE. my phone is my business and livelihood. I have no internet, FB, Twitter, Myspace, contacts or calendar/notes. How is tmobile/danger working to repair this? The fact of them saying that they may very well be lost is not acceptable and Tmobile needs to work a little harder to find a suitable and acceptable way in which to accommodate us. This is ridiculous. what am I to do?

I'm not really sure.  When the server first went down it affected my internet, emails and text messages.  I dropped my phone, battery came out and when I turned my phone back on my contacts were gone.  I'm not risking losing the 60 contacts I bussed my ass to get but if u want...lemme know how everything works out =)

And t-mobile associates aren't making the situation better. I've been lied to all week.  It should be quote unquote, back on later this evening, tomorrow morning, monday...like wtf.  And I was told if I had internet on my phone my contacts would come back.  Lies.  This is the most inconvient thing to me.  I dont know about u guys my contacts are very important to me, I should effin sue.
