Is their an application or way to block certain numbers from calling?

Okay, say you get calls all the time from people that won't stop and all you want to do is never see or hear from them again on your cell.... How do you fix this?   Is their a program that lets you type in a # and keep it from calling?

Hello Johneric8,

There may be some application in the market that would allow this, I am not aware of one personally, but I do know of a newer feature that you may add to your account that can allow this function.

The feature is called Family Allowances. The cost is I believe 2 dollars per month ( but don't quote me on that price, I'm not 100% sure if that is still the same, but I believe it is) to add to your account and it will apply to all lines under your account.

  •  NOTE: It is really meant to give parents more control over their kids usage, for example it allows you to set a schedule as to when the kid can use the phone, you can set allowances as far as how many minutes they can use per cycle, allowances for how many messages and also you may set a limit on how much they are allowed to spend on premium services, such as downloads and callertunes. There's a few other features included as well, and the allowances can be managed from a single line on your account that you designate the "parent line" and then you can manage and set the allowances by logging into the parent line's MyT-mobile
  • I personally set it up because my Girlfriend's Daughter is 12 and needs just a little structure as far as not downloading too many ringtones each month... BUT I have found you can use the "always allowed" and "never allowed" lists under the line you would like to have a specific number blocked for to stop a certain phone number or list of phone numbers from calling you.

Here is an example on how you can set that up:

1) Firstly, have the feature added to your account by calling customer care and requesting Family allowances
NOTE: Here's a few restrictions/exceptions I want to be sure you are aware of before you decide if this option will work for you:

  • Can be added to both pooling and non-pooling rate plans
  • Only Individual Regular, Business and Government account types eligible for FA feature
  • Must be current dated (today's date) or future dated
  • Internet access required to set and manage Family Allowances via the Web tool on My T-Mobile
    Restrictions:
  • Feature cannot be backdated
  • FA feature cannot be added to FlexPay or T-Mobile Prepaid account
  • Feature may take up to 2 hours to appear on My T-Mobile and/or t-zones after you have requested this to be added to your account.

2) Here is a list of available features of Family allowances:

  • The Family Allowances feature enables you to set a parent line and managed lines for their multiline accounts.
  • The parent line must be assigned before allowances can be set. Only one parent line is allowed per account.
  • Once designated, the parent can assign limits to each managed line via the My T-Mobile Web tool.
  • Allowance limits can be set for the following categories:
    • Minutes
    • Messages
    • Downloads
    • Always Allowed numbers
    • Never Allowed numbers
    • Time-of-day blocking

3) Login to MyT-mobile from your home PC to the designated parent line ( if you have multiple lines on your account with us)  after enough time has passed since requesting the feature to be added.

4) select My Services  from the magenta bar you will see once you have logged in.

5) select Family Allowances from the drop down menu that will come down

6) It will take a minute or so for it to load the main page of FA

7) Once its loaded, choose the phone number of yours you would like to set a "never allowed" list for.

8) Choose Allowed numbers then on the right you will see the never allowed list, just add in whatever number(s) you don't want to receive calls or text messages from and select OK

9) You can add as many different numbers as you want, but certain numbers cannot be added to the never allowed list, such as any other line under the same account, 911, customer care etc.

10) Be sure to select save from the bottom right area once you are done!

I don't know of an application to do what you ask but,

I'll assume that you have a G1 so, if you add that person as

a contact...THEN, highlight the  check where it is saying

send directly to voicemail.

Then if you get  PHONE FUSION from the market. (visual voicemail)

you can see that persons messages and just delete them...

Not a perfect solution but, short of a restraining order  it

might work in a fix.....

Changing your number is not always a good idea I had to do that over a year ago and I am stil getting calls
For the previous owner even from her kids school concerning her children. Sometimes it is better to try and fix
The problem with your current number if that is the only problem. Try adding your number to the
No call list.
