Sidekick Service Disruption FAQs

When will data service begin working on my Sidekick?
The fix is being applied quickly, but will take some time for all Sidekick users to be fully restored. Please do not remove your device battery or reset your device during this time.

I received a text message saying my password was reset as the last four digits of my IMSI. How do I find my IMSI?

To locate your new password, use the following steps:

  • Bypass the log-in screen by pressing Menu + L
  • From the Home/Jump screen, press Menu
  • Select Settings
  • Scroll to and select System Info
  • Scroll down to find the IMSI, your password will be the last 4 digits of that number.

I didn’t get a text message. What is my username/password?
Only a select number of Sidekick users required a password reset. If you did not receive a text message, your password has not changed. If you do not remember your password, please use the following steps:

  • Access T-Mobile.com
  • Use the MyT-Mobile link (top right) to access the My T-Mobile Login page
  • Use the Forgot your password? link to have your password sent to your phone via text message.

 How do I sign-in?

The login screen will appear once your data services have been restored. Until that happens, you can still use your phone for calls, Text & Picture Messages.

 What username/password do I use?

  • Most Sidekick users will be able to use the username/password you set up when you set up the device for the first time.  Your username is your Sidekick e-mail address (minus the @tmail.com).Your password should be the same used to access MyT-Mobile.com.
  • Select Sidekick users received a text message stating their password was reset to the last 4 of their IMSI. If you received this message, you will still use the username described above, but use the last 4 digits of your IMSI. If you need help locating your IMSI, please refer to the 2nd question in this FAQ.

I cannot access the Desktop Interface via MyT-Mobile. When will it be available?

The Desktop Interface is not currently available. We do not yet have an estimated time for resolution.

I pulled my battery/reset my device. Will my data (contacts, etc.) ever come back?

Danger is working to restore services and data to all Sidekick customers as quickly as possible.  Once your account is restored, your data should re-sync to your device.

Will this happen to my Sidekick again?

We are working very closely with Danger/ Microsoft to restore services at this time, once Sidekick customers have services restored we will be partnering to ensure that we can prevent this type of service disruption from happening.

How do I gain access to 3rd party email accounts after the data disruption?

You will need to complete the following in order to restore service to any previous email accounts that were on your Sidekick:

  •  Delete all email accounts previous to the data disruption.
  •  Add all desired email accounts on the Sidekick.
