Help! Rebooting problem on my replacement 8120

I just got my replacement, and I put in the SIM card and battery. I mean it works fine until I put in the SIM card. So I tried downloading the latest OS and software on my desktop, and loaded everything on it. Everything seems to be up-to-date. It's weird cus' sometimes I get it to work and get to the setup wizard, and in step 4 it tries connecting to the T-Mobile network. But while it's trying, it always shuts down and goes in the reboot cycle. Any help guys? :[

And yes, I took out my Micro SD card. No difference.

sounds like you need to use BBSAK or CrackUtli and wipe the phone then use the app loader found @ C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader

Thats your reason right there. Asurion, or the ins dept to customer service reps, covers all carriers that I know of that offers insurance. You most likely got a mix up and received an AT&T/Verizon/etc. version. That would cause problems. I wouldn't be surprised if your SIM card is fried. Anyways, good luck.

How can they get a different 8120? If he/she is on T-Mobile, they would only send the poster an T-Mobile 8120 (The ONLY exception I know of to this case was someone on another forum, who had to replace their Alltel 8830 with one from Verizon after Verizon bought Alltel) . I had to replace my 8120 earlier this year also and I got a T-Mobile branded 8120. On to my issue....I'm 4 months away from my full upgrade and my replacement 8120 is driving me insane even more than the original did. In the few months I've had it, I've lost count of the number of battery pulls performed and hourglasses I've seen. I DO have a backup 8100 that I can use but since I use WiFi, I want to keep the 8120 or possibly pay outright for a temporary replacement until I get the cash for the full upgrade (possibly the 8520, 8900 or 9700) in March. What should I do?

Re: Help! Rebooting problem on my replacement 8120

Erica,

What specifically is going on with your phone? As for the insurance, Asurion carries wireless insurance for several carriers, AT&T, Verizon, & T-Mobile to name a few, and of those three right there, they all have the 81xx version BlackBerry Pearl, therefore, its entirely possible to switch phones by accident.

Basically, even with 5 apps added onto what already came with the phone, if I leave the phone unattended for even a few minutes it's in a hourglass when I notice it and I have to reboot it. This also happens when I sometimes try to start up an application. Other than deleting 3rd party apps I actually use, how can I increase memory??? This is my 2nd 8120 in 18 months. I'm afraid to call for an upgrade because according to mytmobile.com, it'll cost me over $400 EDIT: It has also rebooted twice today when connecting it to the USB port on my PC. Most recently less than 5 seconds ago.

Re: Help! Rebooting problem on my replacement 8120

Another update: I went to an online chat last night about my 8120 rebooting and having the hourglass for up to 1 minute (which I just saw now until it stopped on its own). We (rep and I) determined it was a faulty media card which has been removed. But, now the hourglass has come back. I have cleared out all old, saved messages that I had on the phone, cleared the browser settings and pulled the battery for the millionth time since this started happening. I'm TRYING to hold out until the new Pearl comes out, but this is annoying. I'm down to 8 third party applications.
