Hi All!
Just got my G1 today (Oct 22), was 4th in line, 1st Brown out of my local store.
(~AHEM~ Excuse me ... BRONZE ... LOL! )
Ok - ready ...? WOW! Wadda phone! {Grin}
Well, right off I hit a weird problem, hope one of you Geek types (said with fondness since I'm one) can solve this one ...
I dial into a phone system that requires codes to Log in to get my messages. On my old Sprint PPC 6700 I just used this string:
561-123-4567w##pxxxx#p1 <-- The "w" told it to WAIT for a keypress, the #'s sent the POUND symbol, the "p" gave .5 Sec PAUSES, the 1 sent (SURPRISE!) a "one", xxxx was my PIN.
Wellllll, the G1 chokes on all this, gives me a message that the call can't be completed as dialed. Must be sending it all, no pauses or waits.
HALP!! I really need to automate this, I call this number many times a day, usually while driving, don't want to have to take my eyes off the road at 60 MPH! (Anyone want to jump in with the math on feet traveled ..{Chuckle}.
Does anyone know the equivalent codes on the G1? I think some systems used to use commas for pauses, I'll have to try that, although I really preferred the "wait", it was much more reliable.
Thanks so much in advance!
Bob M.

UPDATE:
Well, I removed the "w" and "p" 's from the string and put SINGLE COMMAS in their place, and it worked great!
Forum moderator - you may mark this FIXED! But don't delete the post since it might help some othr poor soul ...!
(So glad I could help myself ... LOL!)

Thank you -- I did ensure no spaces so that is not the solution.
My string needs to look like this (where x = the numbers to be dailed):
xxxxxxxxxx,,xxxxx#,xxxxxxx#
A second pause period is usually needed because of the time to connect but a second comma yeilds an error message. Also, as you can see, I need a pound sign to confirm my entries when logging into a voicemail system (which I can only imagine is true of most of us!).

That worked!!! So for all you people needing a series of login strings, the rules are:
- Only one comma (it seems to know how long to pause such as waiting for a connection) in a row
- Follow each pound sign (#) with a comma
- If the last entry is a pound sign, still include a final comma at the end of the string (i.e. 1234567890,1234#,1234#,)
Thank you Kadi!
